Currículum

In 1991, after studding intensively contemporary dance, jazz and modern ballet, Marcelo Almiron turned to Argentine Tango and started his studies with the authentic milongueros de la Guardia Vieja Rodolfo and Maria Cieri.

During 1994 and 1999 he continued his search of his tango with the most renowned maestros of different styles, such as: Juan Carlos Copes (stage tango), Nito y Elba (Tango Salón), Pepito Avellaneda (milonga),Gustavo Naveira  (Nuevo tango) and many others.

Since 1999 Marcelo was performing in various prestigious theatres of Buenos Aires: La Cumparsita, Bar Sur, La Ventana, El viejo Almacén, Homero Manzi and Café Tortoni.

In 2001 and 2002 Marcelo Almiron was dancing in different shows in the famous Theatre Colón, sharing the stage with Marisa Quiroga, in the show “En Una Suite de Tango” in the theatre Centro Cultural Borges together with the group of dancers of the Theatre Colón, and others. He also danced in the tango show of the company Tango x 2 in the production Una noche de Tango.

Marcelo was invited to participate in the first and the second edition of the World Tango Festival of Buenos Aires. He won the 2nd Premium in the Championship of La Viruta and of Tangauta.

He was also invited to teach special intensive seminars in Tango Canyengue  in different cities of Argentina and South America.

Since 2003 he has been teaching and performing at various festivals various countries in Europe, such as, but not limited to: Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Greece and Cyprus. In 2004 he had a big tour with seminars all over UK, teaching in more than 40 cities.

In Buenos Aires Marcelo Almiron has been teaching in the most important tango schools: Esc. Arg. de tango, Tango Brujo, Made in tango, Viejo correo and Milonguera.

He was also presenting Argentina with his dance at the EXPO Zaragoza in 2008.
Since 2009 he has been teaching England, Italy,  Cyprus, the last 4 months he was teaching in Canada (Quebec and Montreal) .
Since 2010 he diced to resid in Warsaw where he work whit Luiza Pasierowska .

          

The tango style of Marcelo Almiron can be described as authentic Traditional Tango (“milonguero”), but he also uses the elements of the modern tendencies of Tango Nuevo, thus forming his unique fusion.

His rich experience of more than 18 years in tango combined with the passionate expression and great professionalism reflects in his art-creating way of dancing tango.

In his classes he offers his sharp and deep vision of all dimentions of this dance. His unique teaching method is a result of many years of teaching and performing experience and a quintessence of his knowledge in tango.  The core objective of his teaching method is to give his students the understanding of tango and the ability to creat their own dance.
